What is man’s greatest problem? “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
Is sin such a big deal? “But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God” (Isaiah 59:2a). “For the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23a).
Can’t I just do some good things to offset my sins? “By works of law no flesh will be justified in His sight” (Romans 3:20a).
Is there no hope then? “But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)” (Ephesians 2:4-5).
Is God personally interested in me? “God . . . desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth” (1 Timothy 2:4).
Who is Jesus? “Who was declared the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead, according to the Spirit of holiness, Jesus Christ our Lord ” (Romans 1:4).
How does Jesus solve the problem of sin? “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him” (Romans 5:8-9). “Jesus gave Himself as a ransom for all” (1 Timothy 2:6a).
Does Jesus’ death for all mean all will be saved? “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it” (Matthew 7:13-14).
Who benefits from Jesus death? “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
Is that all I have to do, just believe in Jesus? “If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9). “He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved” (Mark 16:16a). “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins” (Acts 2:38a).
How does baptism connect to Jesus? “Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death?” (Romans 6:3). “For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ” (Galatians 3:27).
What happens next? “He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf” (2 Corinthians 5:15). “Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on the earth” (Colossians 3:1-2).
Is there any other way to be saved? “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
