Salvation   "What shall we do?"  Acts 2:37
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son John 3:16

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life"   John 3:16

While the invitation to eternal life is universal, the way there is narrow (Matt 7:13; Luke 13:23-27).  Jesus is that way, the only way (John 14:6).  God designed His plan so that His Son would have first place in everything (Col. 1:18).  That must be His place in our lives too.  God wants His people to be Holy as He is Holy (1 Peter 1:16)

Romans 6:23
reminds us that we all sin and fall short of God's glory.  If we die in our sin our fate is eternal condemnation.  But God does not want that (1 Tim 2:3-4). His love for us motivated Him to offer us Salvation (Romans 8:5-10). Jesus shed His blood so that we might be free from sin (Matt 26:28). God's part through grace, is making this gift of salvation available. Man also has a part in his salvation (Acts 2:40). To have our sins removed, we are to:

  • Listen to what God has said - Romans 10:17
  • Believe who Jesus is and what He did for us - John 3:16; Rom. 10:9
  • Repent of our sins - Luke 13:3; Acts 17:30
  • Confess our faith in Jesus before men - Romans 10:10
  • Be Baptized (immersed in water) for the remission of sins - Acts 2:38; Mark 16:16
  • Live according to God's instructions - Matt 7:24-27
